access denied

I have installed the solution per the instructions.  After install I deploy to my content sites.  Then when I go into the site to activate it returns with access denied.

I can instal, deploy other solutions, NP.  I have full admin rights on the server and in the content site.

I have also uninstalled from control panel, rebooted and reinstalled then deploy with stsadm, smae outcome.

 any suggestions??

The solution copies two resource files (DataZoom.resx and DataZoom.en-US.resx) to the 'App_GlobalResources' directory of your IIS site. In a standard SharePoint configuration your application pool will have write access to this directory. I'm guessing your application pool's Read/Write access to the 'App_GlobalResources' directory has been removed. There are a couple of way to correct the issue...

    1. Grant your application pool Read/Write access to the 'App_GlobalResources' directory and Read access to '12\Config\Resources'. Activate the Data Zoom Web Part feature.
    2. Manually copy the DataZoom.resx and DataZoo.en-US.rexs from '12\Config\Resources' to the 'App_GlobalResources' directory. Activate the Data Zoom Web Part feature. Note, your application will will still need Read access to the 'App_GlobalResources' directory to verify the files.
    3. Run stsadm -o CopyAppBinContent. This SharePoint command will essential perform will refresh all Web Application configuration content including .resx files. However, if your account or your application pools account has limited access then this command will not copy the necessary files.

Note - If you have multiple zones configured you will need to copy the files for each zone.

Note - Your application pool should already have access to these directories via the WSS_WPG group.

I tried all three, recycled, restarted, reinstalled.  Not in that order.  Still the same.

I have this problem as well. Cannot activate the web parts.

This is lame. The installer and configuration app said the installation and deployment were successful.

I tried the stsadm approach, now I am getting only the following error:

     Unknown Error

Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services.
