Meeting Workspaces

Hi there,

I'm evaluating your product and am trying to figure out how it would accommodate Site provisioning in the context of users wishing to create Meeting Workspaces (and Document Workspaces too for that matter). Is there some way to integrate SPA into the standard process if a user checks the 'Create meeting workspace' option when creating a new calendar item?

Cheers
Gavin

This seems like a neat feature. Unfortunately the SPA product does not support this type of behavior out-of-the-box. To accomplish this you would have to create a feature with one or more custom actions to add items to your desired lists or libraries.

    Thanks,

One more general question... how does SPA deal with permissions for the new site owners? Presumably it limits the permissions to create new sites, but is this done globally for the entire site collection or through permission levels? I'm just wondering if it's done through permission levels how this is then controlled on an ongoing basis for Site Owners. Do they actually have permission to change the site permissions of their own sites and can they not give themselves permissions to create Sites again?

Any user with Full Control (i.e. Site Owner) will be able to create sub-sites and modify permission levels. If you don't want your users to have this much ability then you can create a custom permission level and customize the permissions for these accounts. An example would be to create a custom permission level with similar permission as Full Control without the ability to create sub-sites or modify permission levels. You could then create a Power Users SharePoint Group and assign your custom permission level. You could then provision users in the Power Users group instead of the Owners group.
