Absolute URL's in body of alert email template?

I have a customer who is currently evaluating AlertManager and has a specific problem that they want to address with this product.  They are utilizing Alerts for blogs in default Sharepoint.  Sharepoint's default behavior when embedding a link to the blog in the email body is to insert a relative URL and include the base URL in an HTML base tag.  The special web-based email system that their users use does not recognize the base tag and hence the link is not recognized.  My question is, when creating custom templates with AlertManager can you insert the full absolute URL to the blog/list as a token in the email body?
